Drunk Brooklyn ADA Choked Paramedic, Cops Say

NEW YORK CITY — A drunk man and Brooklyn assistant district attorney has been arrested after allegedly hitting and choking a female paramedic who was trying help him, cops say.

Michael Jaccarino, 30, who sources said is a Kings County assistant district attorney, was arrested at 1:03 a.m. on the Brooklyn Bridge after an EMS crew, responding to reports the man was intoxicated, tried to take him to Beth Israel Hospital, police said.

As the EMTs were trying to put him in the ambulance, he began to fight, and choked one female paramedic and hit her in the face, police said.

Jaccarino faces charges of second-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and harassment police said. He has been suspended from his duties at the District Attorney's office, sources said.

The ADA helped prosecute criminal cases from Canarsie, East New York and Flatlands, sources said.

The victim was last reported as being in stable condition, but has bruising on her cheek and chest, police said.
