Police Hunt for Suspect Wanted for Attempted Rape

MANHATTAN — Police are searching for a man wanted for attempting to rape a 35-year-old woman in Washington Heights on Sunday.

Around 3 a.m. on Oct. 21, the suspect followed the victim into her apartment building, where he tried to rape her, police said. The woman was able to fight her attacker off, and he fled the building.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black vest, black jeans and a plaid shirt, police said. He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and between the ages of 20 and 25.
