MELROSE — A man was stabbed to death early Sunday morning while trying to break up a fight between a man and woman in the Bronx, police and reports said.
The victim, 35, was knifed in his torso while standing in front of a building on East 151st Street near Melrose Avenue, at 6:10 a.m. police said.
The victim had been trying to quell the fight in the lobby of the building, before it spilled out onto the street, according to the NY Daily News, which interviewed a neighbor.
That's when the man involved in the argument reportedly stabbed the victim, the paper said.
Police said a suspect was in custody, and charges were pending, an NYPD spokesperson said.
