FLUSHING — A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday after allegedly fleeing the scene of a fatal car accident in Queens, police said.

Shiwoo Lee, of Oakland Gardens, was allegedly driving southbound on 164th Street near Booth Memorial Avenue when his 2007 Toyota Rav4 SUV jumped the curb and hit a pedestrian, police said.

Lee allegedly then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.

The victim, 76, was thrown into a wooded area where he was found unconscious and with severe bodily trauma, police said. The victim was declared dead at the scene of the accident, police said.

The suspect was in custody Saturday, and an investigation was ongoing, police said.
