Man Shot During Robbery at East Bay Avenue Bank

HUNTS POINT — A 47-year-old man was shot during a robbery at a bank on East Bay Avenue Friday morning, authorities said.

The unidentified victim was approached by two men at the HSBC Bank at 1360 East Bay Ave., located near Drake and Whittier streets, according to the NYPD.

The assailants robbed the man as he tried to deposit money, cops said.

During the robbery, the man was shot in the stomach, police said.

Paramedics arrived about 8:30 a.m. and rushed the victim to Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, according to the FDNY. He was in serious condition, an FDNY spokesman said.

The robbers, meanwhile, fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police said. 

No one has been arrested, police said.
