WILLIAMSBURG — Sharpen your knives and slice away — a cut-throat jack-o-lantern contest is coming to the Williamsburg waterfront.
Pumpkin carvers can craft their prettiest (or most ghoulish) pumpkins to show off before the crowd at Smorgasburg food festival Saturday — and the most popular creations will be spotlighted all through Halloween.
The Brooklyn Kitchen cooking store is hosting the face-off, with its own judges and members of the public voting on the top two pumpkins to be featured in their Frost Street storefront through the end of October, and with other prizes promised as well.
Carvers can register for $5 and must bring their pre-cut orange creatures to the store’s Smorgasburg booth Saturday by 1 p.m. Proceeds go to Bedford-Stuyvesant’s Bread and Life food pantry, the event page notes, which concludes:
"May the best carver win!"
