QUEENS — A car ran into a building in Middle Village on Wednesday evening, fire officials said.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m., when the driver of the vehicle plowed into a building at 78-09 Metropolitan Ave., a fire spokesman said.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash but was not sent to the hospital, he added.

Police did not immediately have information about how the accident occurred or whether any criminality was suspected.

The Department of Buildings inspected the building after the crash and determined that it was still structurally stable. The only damage done was to glass storefront entrance, a DOB spokeswoman said.

The owners have been contacted and said they will hire a contractor to make the necessary repairs, she added.
