HELL'S KITCHEN — Batman, the Black Widow and Bane descended on the Javits Center Thursday for the first day of Comic Con — and the massive sci-fi and fantasy convention attracted tens of thousands of fans this weekend.

Billed as the East Coast's largest pop-culture convention, the event features hundreds of exhibitors in areas ranging from comics, graphic novels and anime to video games, toys and television.

On Thursday, costumed enthusiasts began trickling into the convention center, which boasted more than 105,000 visitors last year alone, organizers said.

Comic Con was open to the public Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For the first time ever the convention streamed video of its most popular panels for free.
