SUNSET PARK — The catwalk comes to Sunset Park for "BK Fashion Week(end)," a four-day showcase of emerging designers from around the world Sept. 27 to 30 at Industry City in Bush Terminal.

Runway shows will be held each night starting at 7:30 p.m., preceded by a red-carpet VIP reception at 6:30 p.m. and a cocktail reception and silent auction benefiting one of three local charities at 7 p.m. More than 500 people are expected to attend each show.

Handbag designer Torregrossa Ltd., based in Dyker Heights, is among the Brooklyn fashion companies being featured at the show, which marks the designer's debut on a catwalk.

"Where we're from and what we represent, it means so much to us. Showing our first runway show in Brooklyn Fashion Week couldn't be more perfect," said Bridget Torregrossa, 28, who started the company in 2010 with her younger sister, Megan.

"Showing a handbag collection on a runway is unreal for us. We're just so happy they gave us this opportunity and we're so excited."
