Amy Adams, Adrien Brody, Allison Williams Attend 'The Master' Premiere

MIDTOWN — Amy Adams is "The Master" of the red carpet.

The actress dazzled at the premiere of the new Paul Thomas Anderson film at the Ziegfeld Theater Tuesday night, joining Allison Williams, Adrien Brody, Dylan Baker, Sherri Shepherd and others.

"The Master" tells the story of a Navy veteran who arrives home from war to find everything changed. The soldier, played by Joaquin Phoenix, becomes a follower of "The Cause," a new religious movement led by a character played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Madisen Beaty and Laura Dern also star in the film, the first from Anderson since his 2007 Oscar-winning movie "There Will Be Blood."

The film is said to be loosely based the life of L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, and opens in theaters Sept. 21.
