MIDWOOD — An out-of-control car plunged 40 feet into a construction site on Coney Island Avenue Wednesday, the FDNY said.

The car drove into the pit at 1507 Coney Island Avenue, near Avenue L, about 9:30 a.m., a spokesman said.

Aaron Melool, 54, who works at the construction site, said the woman blasted through a fence and drove into the ditch.

"When she came out of the car she was conscious and talking," Melool said.

The driver had lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a motorcycle and several other vehicles before falling into hole, officials said.

The driver of the car and the motorcyclist taken to area hospitals in serious condition, though their injuries were not considered life-threatening, fire officials said.
