NYPD Offers $12K Reward in Killing of Gas Station Attendant

By Natalie Musumeci | September 6, 2012 11:36am

BELMONT — The NYPD is offering a $12,000 reward in hopes of tracking down the suspects wanted in the shooting of a gas station attendant.

Lamin Sillah was shot several times at the gas station at East 182nd Street and Southern Boulevard Tuesday night.

Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the gunman went through Sillah's pockets and dragged his body out of the office he was working in.

The Gambian immigrant, who was on the job for just over a week, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died, cops said.

The suspects fled the scene on bicycles, police said.

Now cops are searching for a man described as being between 20 to 25 years old and weighing about 190 pounds. Cops added that the gunman had a stocky build and wearing a blue New York Giants sweatshirt.

The NYPD is offering the reward for anyone who provides information that leads to arrests and convictions.

Tipsters are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577 (TIPS), log onto WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, or text 274637, then enter TIP577.
