Police Hunt for Woman Who Snatched a Handbag from Arlene's Grocery

MANHATTAN — Police are searching for a woman who snatched a handbag from the Lower East Side rock club Arlene’s Grocery in August.

Cops said the woman entered the bar, a former grocery store and butcher shop on Stanton Street that is now beloved for its rock ‘n’ roll karaoke, just before 1 a.m. on Aug. 7.

The suspect, believed to be 25 years old, grabbed a handbag filled with a cell phone, cash and credit cards from underneath the bar and left, police said.
