BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn teacher allegedly loitered in girls' bathrooms, browsed Internet porn in a school library and exposed himself to colleagues, an investigation found.

Daniel Meagher, 36, a substitute teacher who worked at several schools, should face criminal prosecution and be immediately dismissed by the Department of Education, according to a report released by the Department of Education's Special Commissioner of Investigation Wednesday.

He had been found looking at pornography on a library computer during a calculus class at Bedford Academy in Bedford-Stuyvesent, the report alleged.

Students told a different teacher after seeing Meagher surfing the Internet in January of this year. That teacher found disturbing Google searches and images on the computer's search history, the report said.

Just two months later, he was allegedly found by several female students in the girls' restrooms at P.S. 17 and P.S. 19 in Williamsburg, according to the report.

He allegedly told one 10-year-old student, "Don't worry. I'm just checking the bathroom."

After the complaints of his bathroom activities, Meagher was reassigned to Children's First Network. In May, he was reported for allegedly exposing himself to several co-workers, according to the report.

And, in June, two DOE employees complained after finding him in a department building ladies' room.

"These serious allegations of a sexual nature should be reviewed for potential criminal prosecution," Commissioner Richard Condon wrote in his report.

"However, regardless of the outcome of any criminal prosecution stemming from his actions, it is the recommendation of the office that Meagher's employment be terminated."
