VIDEO: 'Crutch Battle' in Times Square

By Mathew Katz | August 27, 2012 7:26pm

TIMES SQUARE — A "crutch fight" outside the Office Depot in Times Square apparantly caught on YouTube showed two men violently whacking one another with crutches for more than a minute without police intervention while dozens of bystanders watch.

The video, posted by user iRepUkraine on Sunday night, showed the two men in heated argument before going at it — as one of the men turned his crutch into a makeshift club.

Not to be outdone, the other man picked up a wooden police barrier and tossed it at his opponent — all directly under an NYPD camera and steps from the Times Square police station, the video showed.

The plank-wielding man then grabbed another crutch and the two men engage in a duel.

At one point, a man in what appeared to be an MTA uniform tried to break up the fight, but to no avail.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the incident or if the men were hurt.

Police had no information on the fracas.

Emails sent to the video's account owner iRepUkraine were not immediately returned.
