MIDTOWN — A fire broke out at a Midtown hotel on West 54th Street Thursday, the FDNY said.

The contained blaze started in a dryer in the basement of 230 West 54th Street about 12:43 p.m., officials said.

The FDNY said the fire in the 13-story building stayed self-contained, and was put out by 1:12 p.m.

The fire was just around the corner from the Ed Sullivan Theater, home of the Late Show With David Letterman, on Broadway.
