GREENPOINT — "Top Gun" fans doing their best to channel Maverick and Ice Man gathered at McCarren Park Wednesday night for a screening of the classic fighter-jet film.
Movie-goers donning flightsuits and aviator glasses filled the park to watch the 1986 Tom Cruise flick, after a trio of bands warmed up the crowd and food trucks on fed the masses.
The screening was part of McCarren Park's Summerccreen series, which has included such favorites as "Dirty Dancing" and "The Princess Bride."
The series' final two screenings of the summer — "Empire Records" and "Raising Arizona" — are set for Aug. 15 and 22.
