NEW YORK — A Brooklyn man clad in a suit and tie and wielding a hammer attacked a Spanish tourist in City Hall Park Monday afternoon, leaving him with a fractured skull and defensive wounds on his arms and hands, according to police and news reports.

Hugo Alejandre, 31, was sitting in the park about 3 p.m. when John Yoos, of Crown Heights, began beating the tourist in the left temple with the claw-side of the hammer, according to cops and the New York Daily News and New York Post.

Yoos, 43, was calling Alejandre a "Nazi motherf---er" and screaming and screaming epithets about Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Nazis.

Good Samaritans wrestled Yoos to the ground and held him there until he was hauled away by cops, the NYPD said. Alejandre was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Yoos was charged with first degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
