MANHATTAN BEACH — A woman collapsed while swimming at Manhattan Beach Monday afternoon and had to be pulled from the water by lifeguards, officials said.

The woman was swimming at the beach near 1000 Oriental Blvd. about 2:20 p.m. when lifeguards saw her collapse, the FDNY and the Parks Department said.

The lifeguards "immediately pulled her out and administered CPR," a Parks Department spokesman said.

The woman was taken to Coney Island Hospital, where her condition was not immediately known, the FDNY and Parks Department said.
