MANHATTAN — The doctor who performed the autopsy on Pvt. Danny Chen, the Chinatown native who committed suicide on duty in Afghanistan, revealed on Thursday that Chen had written a suicide note on his left arm in black marker.

"Tell my parents I'm sorry," the message read, according to the Daily News. "Veggie - pull the plug."

The revelation came during the third day of testimony at the court martial of Sgt. Adam Holcomb, who's among a group of eight soldiers accused of bullying Chen and driving him to suicide. If found guilty, Holcomb could spend up to 17 years in jail.

Army friends of Chen also testified that he had told them he wanted to kill himself because he was being hazed, the News also reported.

"He told me he wanted to [commit suicide] because of how he was mistreated," said Pfc. Degan Berhe, according to the News. "He told me they kept picking on him."

But details also emerged that supported the defense's argument that Chen died because of family problems.

Pfc. Bryan Johnson testified that was found curled up on his bed after a converstaion with his parents.

"He stated he talked with them about deploying and they..said they were going to disown him," Johnson said, according to the paper.
