Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis Goof Around at 'The Campaign' Premiere

LOWER EAST SIDE — Politics aren’t meant to be funny — unless, of course, funnymen Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis are involved.

The actors celebrated the premiere of their new film “The Campaign” Wednesday at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema and then attended the after-party at Sons of Essex, where they were joined by Sofia Coppola, Jon Hamm, Judah FriedlanderJaime Cepero, Dree Hemingway, designer Rachel Roy, Andy Cohen, Rachel Dratch, Vanessa Bayer, Abby Elliott and more.

The Jay Roach-directed film features Ferrell as a bumbling Southern congressman squaring off against Galifianakis, a local tourism director put up for election by two uber-wealthy executive types.

Also in the audience were a passel of news people, including Joe Scarborough, Roseanna Scotto, Jill Martin, Alina Cho and Pat Kiernan, perhaps getting some pointers for covering the upcoming election.
