FLUSHING—Don't have a cow Texas.
The Queens Zoo is looking more like the Lone Star state these days after an adorable longhorn calf was born there recently.
Joan, a 7-year old Texas longhorn cow became the proud mother of the new 60-pound calf in May.
Both mom and baby are said to be doing fine, but the zoo is now asking the public to suggest a name for the calf, which is the third Texas longhorn at the zoo, including his mom.
It's also the latest baby animal at the zoo: earlier this year, a cute baby Alpaca made his entry into the world.
Longhorns, the result of cross breeding between feral and domestic cattle, are known for their stature and intelligence and are a symbol of the American Southwest, the zoo said.
