Teen Shot After July 4th Argument Leads to Gunfire in Bronx

THE BRONX — A 17-year-old boy was shot and injured Wednesday after a late-night argument ended in gunfire on a University Heights street, the NYPD said.

The teen was arguing with a 16-year-old on Davidson Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. when the younger boy pulled a firearm and shot the 17-year-old once in the back, police said.

The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.

The 16-year-old was described as about 5'5" and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green shirt, beige camouflage pants and a red hat.
