Police Searching for Suspect in Fatal Bodega Beating

SOUNDVIEW — Police are on the lookout for a man they say was involved in the fatal stabbing of another man inside a Bronx bodega last month.

Omar Cepeda, 27, allegedly stabbed Souvann Hunter, 35, in the back of the head on Sunday June 24, inside Hot Millions Deli after an ongoing dispute heated up at 8:18 p.m., police said.

Hunter, who is from New Rochelle, was found by rescuers at the 843 Soundview Ave. bodega suffering from the head wound and was transported to Jacobi Hospital critical condition, police said. He died the next morning of his injuries at 11:15 a.m.

In the photo released by the NYPD of Cepeda, he has a tattoo on the left side of his neck. Police said Cepeda is approximately 6-foot-5 and weighs 280 pounds.
