WILLIAMSBURG — The  L train subway station at Bedford Avenue has a new next-door neighbor — that may be named in its honor.

The owners of Station, a restaurant that applied for a liquor license earlier this year for its spot at 166 N. Seventh St. right next to the busy train stop, hid its renovation from the packed block until this week, when they took down the gate covering the building's facade.

On Tuesday night, the staff was busy putting final touches on the bar and dining area. A woman named Rue, who said she was a co-owner but declined to give her last name, confirmed the eatery was indeed called Station and that it would open this weekend for business.

On Wednesday, however, she backtracked, saying she had spoken to her partner and that the name and opening were yet to be determined.

It was also unclear what kind of food and/or drink the establishment would serve, as well its size and hours of operation.
