MANHATTAN — Cops are investigating whether more than just bottles and fists flew during a melee allegedly involving Drake and Chris Brown at a SoHo club — a shot may have been fired, too, an NYPD spokesman said Friday.
Paul Browne, the department's top spokesman, said a gun may have been used in the wild fight at WIP, which was allegedly sparked early Thursday by a hip-hop love triangle between the artists and Rihanna.
"While none so far reported seeing a gun, several witnesses have told NYPD detectives that they heard what they believed was a gunshot inside the club during the disturbance," Browne said. "Detectives are investigating these reports further."
Cops have no ballistics evidence yet, however.
The developments come a day after Brown and Drake allegedly used the nightclub, at 34 Vandam St., as a battleground for their beef over the Barbados-born beauty. It reached a boiling point after Drake taunted the R&B bad boy about still being intimate with Rihann, whom they both dated, according to sources.
"I'm still f---ing Rihanna!" Drake wrote in a note to Brown, according to sources.
NYPD detectives Friday were still looking to interview Drake about the incident, Browne added.
"His attorney said that he and Drake would make themselves available at a time more convenient [to] them," he said.
Drake was in upstate Saratoga Springs for a concert Thursday night, sources said.
His representative told TMZ that Drake "did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at WIP. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began."
Brown, meanwhile, has spoken to detectives — but told them that he never saw Drake in the club, Browne said.
A representative for the R&B star said Brown and his crew did nothing to ignite the fight.
"Chris, [his girlfriend] Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP," Brown's publicist said in a statement, according to RadarOnline. "They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further."
The brawl left five victims bloodied. One of the Brown's bodyguard's reportedly suffered a head gash.
"Big Pat!," Brown tweeted Thursday night. "Love you boy!"
NBA star Tony Parker, who reportedly was among other celebrities partying at WIP that night, told TMZ.com that he was injured, too, after shards of glass flew into his eye.
"I was there with a bunch of friends when a fight broke out," he said. "The cornea has been touched. I can't do anything for seven days."
The injury won't prevent Parker, who was spotted Friday in France wearing sunglasses, from joining the French Olympic team June 20, he told the website.
The brawl also left a 21-year-old model with facial wounds that required upwards of 10 stitches, her lawyer said Friday. Ingrid Gutierrez, a Fordham University graduate, was sitting next to Brown when bottles began to fly.
Sal Strazzullo, her attorney, said Gutierrez plans to sue WIP.
"The initial culpable party here is the club," he said. "After that, we'll see."
No one has been charged, a spokeswoman for the NYPD said Friday, and investigators were reviewing surveillance tape at the club to see who was throwing bottles.
If Brown is charged with a crime, he faces jail time for violating the five-year probation sentence he received in 2009 after he pleaded guilty to felony assault for beating Rihanna.
"If someone is currently on probation in California, they have to keep their nose clean," a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Probation Department said, declining to speak about Brown's case in particular.
Managers at WIP, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, tweeted at 2 a.m. Thursday about Brown's arrival at the club.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Cantor, the manager of the Greenhouse — which shares the building with WIP, which stands for Works in Progress — was arrested Friday, police sources said. After a routine review of the club, for which he was cited for fire code violations and alcoholic beverage control, he was taken into custody for outstanding warrants.
One of the warrants was for having a disorderly premises and the other was unknown; neither was related to WIP.
A receptionist confirmed that the club would be open Friday for a private party but declined to say who would be at the event.
The Barbados-born beauty at the center of the beef, meanwhile, has yet to address the incident publicly.
"This morning should NOT be this rough," Rihanna tweeted. "What is life? Is there any?"
For his part, Brown tweeted a picture of himself Friday afternoon, which showed little signs of chin gash he shared on Twitter the day before.
"A1!" the tweet said.
