Bumped Shoulders Leads to Gunfire in Bushwick Crosswalk

BROOKLYN — A bump in a crosswalk led to gunfire when a man shot a woman after they brushed shoulders crossing a Bushwick street, the NYPD reported.

The pair bumped into each other as they crossed either Seneca Avenue or Myrtle Avenue from opposite directions at about 2:20 a.m., police said. They began to argue, and as the dispute escalated, the man, 22, pulled a gun and shot the woman, 22, once in the torso.

A surveillance camera nearby recorded the man running along a sidewalk after the incident. He was described as 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, with curly black hair and a white T-shirt.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477).
