Performers and participants in New York’s 55th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade will march along Fifth Avenue between 44th and 79th Streets from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Sunday, June 10 to celebrate Puerto Ricans in higher education.
This year’s choice of theme aims to recognize the role of education in the improvement of social conditions for Puerto Ricans, according to the parade’s website.
In light of that theme, Felix Matos Rodriguez, President of Hostos Community College of New York (CUNY) was selected as this year’s grand marshal.
