BROOKLYN — A man died in a fire in a Williamsburg home on Wednesday afternoon, a fire spokesman said.
Fire officials received a call just before 5 p.m. about an “emotionally disturbed person” in a private residence at 343 Leonard St., who was looking to hurt himself, the spokesman said.
Firefighters responded to the building, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, the apparent victim of a fire in the home.
A spokesman for the FDNY said it appeared the man had lit himself on fire.
