Police Seek Man Thought to Have Attempted Bronx Bank Robbery

THE BRONX — Police are searching for a man who unsuccessfully tried to rob a Chase Bank last week in Morris Heights.

The suspect entered the bank at 5 West Burnside Avenue on Saturday, May 5th, at 12:30 p.m.

The man passed a note to a teller, demanding money, but the teller did not cooperate, and the suspect fled the location without any cash.

Police said the suspect as a man in his 20s, standing 6 feet tall, and weighing 210 lbs. He was last seen in the bank wearing a Derek Jeter New York Yankees shirt.

In police photos, he also appears to be holding a light blue denim jacket.
