MIDWOOD — Police are searcing for a man they say is a suspect in two bank robberies, one involving the use of a weapon, in east Brooklyn.
The NYPD released a photo of security footage on Wednesday of a man the say robbed an HSBC bank at 5929 Flatlands Ave., on the border of Flatlands and East Flastbush, on April 5, and who they also believe robbed a Chase bank in Midwood, located at 1101 Avenue J, on April 28, 2012.
The first robbery took place at 12:45 p.m., when the suspect passed a note to a teller demanding cash. The bank teller complied, and the suspect fled the location with an unknown amount of money.
The second robbery took place at 10:24 a.m., when the suspect entered a Chase Bank location in Midwood, and passed a note to a teller, but also displayed a firearm.
Again, the teller complied, and the man fled the location with an unknown amount in cash.
No injuries were sustained at either location, but police are looking for a male, roughtly 35 to 40 years of age. He is estimated to stand 6 feet tall, and weigh approximately 220 lbs.
