RIVERSIDE — The two suspects accused of gunning down a MoMA cook for his iPhone have been arraigned on murder charges, authorities said.
Dominick Davis, 20, and Alejandro Campos, 21, both of Staten Island, were arraigned Friday for allegedly killing Hwang Yang, a 26-year-old cook at The Modern at the MoMA.
They were charged second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, first-degree robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the criminal complaint filed in Bronx Supreme Court.
Prosecutors say Davis approached Yang, who was walking home from the train station, at West 232nd Street, just a few blocks away from his home. That's when he allegedly shot the former Sunday school teacher in the left torso, authorities said.
Davis then took Yang's iPhone and fled with Campos, who was waiting nearby in a getaway car, prosecutors said.
They are scheduled to appear in court again on Monday.
