Police Seek Man Who Tried to Rob Flushing Bank

FLUSHING — Police are looking for a man who tried to rob a bank in Flushing on Monday.

The suspect allegedly walked into the Bank of America at 39-12 Main St. about noon April 23 and handed a note to the teller demanding money and also verbally asked the teller for money, police said.

The man then backed away and fled the bank, police said.

Police described the suspect as a man in his 20s, 5-feet-9-inches tall, 165 pounds, wearing a green windbreaker, blue jeans and brown boots.
