Three Suspects Sought in Forest Hills Jewelry Store Robbery

By Juliet Linderman | April 5, 2012 5:49pm

QUEENS — Cops are hunting for three men suspected of swiping a dozen watches from a Forest Hills jewelry store.

The thieves hit Kinara Jewelers, at 72-03 Austin St., just after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

One of the suspects held the door, showing what appeared to be a weapon, while a second man stood by the entrance, police said. That's when the third thief stormed in and shattered the showcase with a hammer, cops said.

They stole the 12 watches before fleeing in a blue Chrysler 300, police said.

No one was injured.

Cops describe the suspects as being in their 20s and standing between 5-feet-8-inches and 5-feet-10-inches tall.

The NYPD is asking for the public's help in trying to find the thieves.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery is urged to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS, logging onto www.nypdcrimestoppers.org, or texting 274637, and then entering TIP577.
