MIDTOWN — Popular steakhouse STK opened a new to-go shop in Midtown Thursday, complete with burgers, shakes and roller-skating girls clad in short-shorts.

With "A Girl's Gotta Eat" as its tag line, STK OUT debuted to huge crowds and fanfare at its new location on the corner of West 43rd Street and Sixth Avenue, just steps away from the popular indoor steakhouse.

The takeout joint, which is targeting a female clientele, serves up a modified version of the steakhouse's menu, including "sammies" and "bevies."

"The idea of this concept is to make some of the same great food we cook indoors and make it a to-go concept," said Adriano Ricco, STK's executive chef.

That includes a super-sized version of STK's signature sliders, to-go servings of sweet potato tater tots and truffles fries, and a so-called "Birthday Cake Shake," fully loaded with sprinkles and icing.

"All of the food is made indoors, in the main restaurant, and then assembled out here," said Ricco, who has a background cooking at both burger joints and steakhouses. "It's been pretty hectic so far."

Hundreds of customers turned up for the opening hoping to get their favorites from STK, whose locations in Midtown and the Meatpacking District are popular for their sexed-up style.

"I work around the corner and usually eat at STK — it's good food," said Katherine Maxine, holding an order of truffle fries. "Everything they have is the same — and so far, it's good."

Eric Deesworth, 49, said that he's been waiting for STK OUT to open since he first heard about it a few months ago.

"I try to get to the steakhouse once a week, but usually I can't take that much time," said Deesworth, who works in finance in Midtown and was sipping a milkshake Thursday. "This is perfect for me."

Ricco said that STK OUT will operate year-round and that the company hopes to expand into more locations around the city, as well as nationwide.

"Our aim is to have one of these in every city in the USA," he said.
