FOREST HILLS — Ostrich is finally on the menu on Austin Street.
Bareburger, where free-range ostrich, wild boar and elk are cooked into hormone-free patties, will welcome its first customers in Forest Hills at 5 p.m. Monday. The small chain restaurant has set up shop at 71-49 Austin St., opposite Cheese of the World.
Less adventurous patrons can instead order organic beef, turkey or veggie burgers, which range in price from $8.95 to $11.95, depending on the type of patty, size and toppings.
Bareburger's offerings also include salads, sandwiches, French fries and onion rings.
For its soft opening, the new Bareburger will be open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. through Thursday. It plans to extend hours starting Friday, when it will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight.

The hours of operation are expected to change next week.
The blog Edge of the City snapped exclusive photos over the weekend that show red and yellow chairs in the front of the eatery and small booths in the back.
