Pizza Goat's Identity Revealed

By Leslie Albrecht | March 9, 2012 1:42pm | Updated on March 9, 2012 2:23pm

MANHATTAN — Pizza goat has been unmasked.

The pizza slice-loving goat that won international attention after a photo of it dining at a Midtown pizzeria was tweeted by a DNAinfo reporter has been identified as Cocoa, a goat that hails from Summit, N.J.

The barnyard creature is the four-legged companion of Cyrus Fakroddin, New York Magazine reported Friday, a few hours after Cocoa's pizza-eating picture made its national TV debut on the morning show Fox & Friends.

Fakroddin could not be reached immediately for comment.

This wasn't Cocoa's first time in the spotlight. The goat has been profiled in the Newark Star-Ledger, which described Cocoa's "rock star" status in Summit, where Fakroddin regularly takes the animal for evening strolls downtown. "We don't get too far," Fakroddin told the Star-Ledger. "She's a show-stopper."

Cocoa fans can also check out a video of the goat mixing it up in Times Square on YouTube. The footage shows Cocoa scampering up the stairs from the 1 train stop at 50th Street and Broadway, suggesting that Cocoa commutes to the city by subway.
