BRONX — A fire broke out a Kennedy Fried Chicken restaurant in Soundview Thursday morning, FDNY said officials said.

About 60 firefighters responded to the 10:42 a.m. blaze at 1798 Westchester Ave., near Beach Avenue.

Owner Rohel Dougg said the fire started when the restaurant's fryer overheated.

"The machine overheated and started a fire, but nothing was damaged and everyone is OK," Dougg said.

The fire was reported at 10:42 a.m., and firefighters were on the scene three minutes later, FDNY officials said. Four fire engines and three ladder trucks responded, bringing the blaze under control within an hour at the one-story brick building, officials said.

No injuries were reported, and the restaurant's dining room sustained no visible damage.
