BATTERY PARK CITY — A new food truck lot is opening Monday in Battery Park City, spicing up lunchtime offerings in the neighborhood.
Kimchi Taco Truck, Taim Mobile, Gorilla Cheese and Van Leeuwan Artisan Ice Cream will all make appearances on the lot's opening day at the World Financial Center Feb. 6, the office complex announced Friday.
After that, a rotating group of four trucks a day will park on North End Avenue near 4 World Financial Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., said Brookfield Properties, owner of the World Financial Center.
Other trucks that will make appearances during the lot's first week include Frites 'N' Meats, Milk Truck, Coolhaus, Schnitzel & Things, Mexicue and Rickshaw Dumplings.
"There's clearly a lack of food that's served in Battery Park City today," David Cheikin, Brookfield's director of leasing, said when announcing the plan for food trucks late last year.
"The more dining options we can bring down, the better off it is for anyone."
Brookfield Properties is working with the New York City Food Truck Association to pick trucks for the new lot.
The food trucks will be at North End Avenue and Vesey Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, through 2013. For a complete schedule, visit the World Financial Center's website.
