MANHATTAN — A smoky fire ripped through a luxury high-rise building in Hell's Kitchen Sunday morning, authorities said.
The blaze broke out in the ductwork on the fourth floor of 560 W. 43rd St., near 11th Avenue — the Riverbank West building — just before 10 a.m., the FDNY said.
"We came out and the whole floor was covered in smoke, but there was no fire alarm," said Ivan Savvine, 28, who lives in the building. "We actually had to call down to the lobby to figure out what was happening."
There were no immediate reports of injuries or people trapped.
The 44-story Riverbank West features 418 high-end apartments.
