CHINATOWN — If you plan to drive around Manhattan this weekend it's probably a good idea to steer away from Chinatown.

The Lunar New Year Parade will unleash dragon dances from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday and will close the following streets along and around the parade route:

-Mott Street between Canal Street and Chatham Square

-Chatham Square between Mott Street and Bowery

-East Broadway between Chatham Square and Eldridge Street

-Eldridge Street between East Broadway and Hester Street

-Hester Street between Eldridge and Forsyth streets

-Forsyth Street between Hester and Delancey streets

-Broome Street between Forsyth and Eldridge streets

-Grand Street between Forsyth and Chrystie streets

Three out of four lanes on the Staten Island Expressway will be closed midnight to 7 a.m. Saturday from the Fingerboard Bridge overpass to the Verrazano-Narrows Brooklyn-bound toll plaza while a new traffic pattern is put in place.

Wide-load vehicles won't be able to cross the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge from 11 p.m. Friday through 8 a.m. Saturday while the work is being done and will have to take an alternate route.
