MANHATTAN — A Hamilton Heights Papa John's is under fire after a customer received a receipt last week that referred to her using a racial slur.

Minhee Cho, a communications manager at the online journalism site ProPublica, tweeted a photo of her receipt from the eatery at 3477 Broadway, near West 142nd Street, Friday after she noticed her server had referred to her as "lady chinky eyes."

"Hey @PapaJohns just FYI my name isn't 'lady chinky eyes,'" she wrote on her Twitter page, posting a photo of the receipt — first reported in the Daily News — as well.

According to the News, Cho, 24, had ordered a small pepperoni pie.

“I was very surprised because the lady that was serving me was super nice and we joked and it seemed super normal,” said Cho, according to the paper.

The store's owner, Ronald Johnson, said that he was "shocked" by the receipt and blamed the mishap on "hip hop culture," the News said.

The Kentucky-based company has since posted an apology on their Facebook and Twitter pages.

"Please know employee was terminated and formal apology was given. Also, reaching out to customer personally to apologize," Papa John's wrote on Twitter.

Cho did not immediately respond to messages on Twitter.

A worker at the Papa John's referred a request for comment to the chain's corporate headquarters, which has not yet returned phone calls.
