DOWNTOWN — Shanna Spalding, the so-called "Cat Woman Burglar," was found guilty on two counts of robbery Tuesday.
Spalding, 28, who held up boutiques in SoHo and the East Village while dressed like a villainess from a Batman comic book, faces a maximum of 22 years for both robbery and attempted robbery in the second degree, the Manhattan District Attorney's office said.
She held up a store on Greene Street in August 2010 and one at Astor Place in June, 2010, as well as several places in Queens, which were not included in this sentencing. Spalding was also the lead singer of a death metal band called "Divine Infamy," and she went by the stage name "Purgatory."
"Give me your money. I have a gun," she wrote on a note she handed to a clerk during the Astor Place Arche shoe store.
Among the evidence seized from Spalding were a fake silver gun she carried with her during the heists and "Goth White" makeup.
She is due back in court on Jan. 18, 2012, for sentencing.
