Barneys Lady Gaga Window Displays Your Holiday Wishes

By Ben Fractenberg | December 6, 2011 8:02pm

MIDTOWN — What do Lady Gaga, Twitter and stardust have in common?

They are all part of a new interactive window display called "Gaga Constellation" at Barneys' Madison Avenue flagship store during the holidays.

The display, which was developed by Q4 and directed by Tim Richardson, shows a video featuring a computer-generated Lady Gaga in space that ends with stardust floating in the cosmos. Passersby can then tweet their holiday wishes to #gagastars, which will then be displayed on the screen.

The best of tweets are selected by the project's creative director and Gaga's stylist Nicola Formichetti to appear on a 12-by-6.5 foot long laser display.

“We’re always exploring ways to add digital to the shopping experience," Jeremy Bergstein, chief of strategy for The Science Project, who helped design the display, said in an interview with the blog AllTwitter. "Each tweet is a little love letter to New York, to Lady Gaga, to the holidays, and to the revelry and hope they represent.”

FashionistaNYC tweeted: "My holiday wish list is a gift card to for the Gaga Holiday Workshop. Happy Holidays Little Monsters!!"

"I wish upon the #Gagastars that everyone enjoys the holidays and spends them with as many people who love and appreciate them!" tweeted CarlosUnbound.

_AmenFashion_ wished for a job. "I just wanna be assistant," she wrote.

The display will be up, along with Lady Gaga's Workshop at Barneys, through to January 2, 2012.
