MIDTOWN — Hundreds of fashionistas and shoppers flooded popular retailer H&M over the weekend as Versace's line for the company hit shelves.

At the store's Fifth Avenue location, at East 51st Street, shoppers started lining up Friday night to get a color-coded bracelet including a specific time for entry.

Drey Allen, 24, received a blue bracelet that allowed her into the Versace section from between 8:45 a.m. and 9 a.m. Saturday. Still, she had to line up outside the store at 6 a.m to receive it.

“It was pandemonium, the line was wrapped around the block,” Allen said. “I think there were about 2,000 people.”

However, she explained that she wasn't devoted enough to camp outside overnight.

“I would never, it's not worth it,” Allen added with a laugh.

Even with a bracelet, the shopper said most of the items she was looking for were already gone when she got in Saturday.

At 4 p.m, the store opened the Versace section to the general public. Annesia Simmons, 36, said she was glad that H&M had collaborated with the well-known Italian label.

“I like the designer but of course I can't afford it, so it's great that they were able to offer his label at a reasonable price,” she said.

Jackie Martinez, 24, agreed.

“I think it's great. For the public and people who are into fashion, this is pretty good,” Martinez said.
