MIDTOWN — A fire in Midtown's Sheraton hotel forced dozens of guests to be evacuated and snarled traffic Wednesday morning.

An FDNY spokesman said three floors — from the 14th to the 16th — were emptied after a 911 call alerted them of a fire on the 15th floor at 9:37 a.m.

The blaze left all but one lane of Seventh Avenue blocked by FDNY trucks between 52nd and 53rd streets.

"I was completely asleep and somebody came and knocked on the door," said Mary Erickson, 48, from Arizona, who was in a room on the 14th floor.

"It smelled like plastic, like an electrical fire."

An FDNY official said the guests were back inside the hotel by 10:45 a.m. He said the fire damaged a TV in a room.
