MANHATTAN — A man was found dead in Inwood Friday morning and investigators said that he was beaten and repeatedly slashed.
The victim, in his 40s, was found with multiple cuts to the face and the ear at a building on Payson Avenue and Dyckman Street just before 4:40 a.m. after a 911 call was made for an unconscious person, police said.
The man, who was not identified, was taken to Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said that the medical examiner would determine the cause of death.
