By Julie Shapiro | November 9, 2011 7:38pm

OPENINGS:

After weeks of delays, the eagerly awaited Francois Payard Bakery in Goldman Sachs' Battery Park City headquarters finally opened Oct. 28. The 850-square-foot bakery at 210 Murray St. is renowned chef Francois Payard's second in Manhattan, and offers his macarons and éclairs, along with salads and sandwiches for the neighborhood lunch crowds.

In the Financial District, Earl's Court opened a modern food court at 90 John St. Oct. 31, with an array of options for nearby office workers. Hungry diners can pick up made-to-order sandwiches for $5.99 from The Earl of Sandwich and cupcakes for $2.50 from Billy's Bakery. Other vendors include The Original Soup Man, Sushi Express, Lavazza coffee, ShakeBar, for milkshakes, and Libations, for cocktails.

Also this week, Tinsel Trading Company opened a holiday pop-up at 209 Water St., in a gallery owned by the Seaport Museum New York. The shop, which will be open through December, offers an array of sparkly seasonal gifts as well as materials for do-it-yourself crafters.

CLOSINGS:

Several businesses also closed over the past week in Battery Park City, after Brookfield Properties, owner of the World Financial Center, shut down a corridor just south of the Winter Garden for renovations.

SouthWest NY, Boomerang Toys, Urban Athletics, Add Accessories and several other businesses have all closed, although SouthWest NY will continue offering delivery until its new location opens in early 2012 at the former Gate House space at South End Avenue and Liberty Street.

Hallmark and Cobbler Express, which were located in the same World Financial Center corridor, have relocated to other spots in the office complex.
