EAST HARLEM — A fire broke out in an East Harlem second floor apartment early Monday morning, FDNY officials said.
Fire fighters responded to the blaze at 2225 First Avenue about 6:37 a.m. Additional units were called in because the apartment was so full of personal items emergency responders had difficulty determining if the fire was totally out or if there were any injuries.
The fire was under control by about 7:25 a.m.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
