MANHATTAN — The stars were out on the Upper West Side Monday night, as recently-retired talk-show host Oprah Winfrey returned to the stage for a chat with fashion icon Ralph Lauren.

The Lincoln Center event, which benefited the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention in East Harlem, as well as Lincoln Center itself, drew a bevy of leading ladies, including Jessica Alba, Naomi Watts and Uma Thurman.

"Back to the Future" star-turned-Parkinsons-advocate Michael J. Fox and sitcom legend Jerry Seinfeld were also in attendance.

During the talk, Lauren, a Native New Yorker who built his clothing empire from the ground up, said he considered himself "a representative of America" and spoke about his desire to see fashion embraced as a fine art.

"When they mention fine arts they never mention fashion, so I think this is the beginning of that," the designer said, alluding to the event's setting at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Nearby, in Midtown, comedian Eddie Murphy appeared for the world premiere of his new film "Tower Heist," along with co-stars Ben Stiller and Matthew Broderick.

Real Estate mogul Donald Trump also showed for the film, about a group of ponzi-scheme victims who plot to rob their scammer's high-rise apartment.

Rappers Nas and Sean "Diddy" Combs also attended, as did "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan.
